Kelly, Bonnie

Bonnie Jean Kelly, 61, of Festus died April 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Kelly managed Peppers Video in De Soto for many years. She was known for her vivacious personality and always made people laugh, but also had a quiet strength and dedication to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, and spending time with family and friends. Born March 25, 1961, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Mary Francis (Bins) and Kenneth Frances Morice.

She is survived by first husband of 15 years: Rodney Kelly Sr. of Pevely; her second husband of 23 years: Wilford Hammuck; five children: Rodney Kelly Jr. of St. Louis, Whitney Kelly Bates of De Soto, Jade Hammuck of De Soto, Monique Hammuck of St. Louis and Bryan Sago of Bonne Terre; a sister: Christine (T.A.) Bradshaw of Crystal City; six grandchildren: Monroe Kelly, Carson Garfield, Fallyn Weitzel, Farrah Weitzel, Raven McGee and Jasmine Underwood; three nieces: Wendy (Mike) Meyer of Arnold, Alicia Whitehead of Crystal City and Kacey Greenlee of Bloomsdale; and a nephew: Brandon Bradshaw of Crystal City.

 She was preceded in death by a brother: Stephen Morice.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses and the Rev. Ronald Lewellen. Dinner and drinks will follow at Fredericks Banquet Center on Festus Main Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
