Billy Don Adams, 81, of Rogers, Ark., died May 21, 2019. Mr. Adams attended First Baptist Church of Lowell. He began a long career in retail sales working at Woolworth, Woolco, and Skaggs before his successful 20-year career with Walmart, from which he retired as a regional vice-president. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed playing golf and telling jokes. He enjoyed his farm and loved all animals, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Born April 23, 1938, in Harrisburg, Ill., he was the son of the late Charles and Rosetta Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Adams; a daughter: Kelly (Kevin) James of Rogers; a son: Jeff (Terri) Adams of the Festus area; four stepchildren: Heather (James) Payton of Oklahoma, Courtney (Aaron) Jurgensmeyer of Rogers, Christian Neeman of California and Lucas Neeman of Oklahoma; a sister: Kathleen Wasson of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family members, business associates and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Cletus, Charles, Maxine and Bobby; and his former wife of 25 years and the mother of his children: Glenna Sue Adams.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 24, at First Baptist Church, 409 Johnson Ave., in Lowell, Ark. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at the church. Burial will follow in Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers. Arrangements are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
