Beverly Ann Shores, 82, of Crystal City died April 10, 2017, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. Mrs. Shores had worked as a cashier for 20 years at Mac’s IGA (formerly Mueller's IGA) in Crystal City and was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City. She enjoyed puzzles and being kickball goalie at Crystal Oaks, where she was also known as the “social butterfly” of the center. Born July 25, 1934, in Shell City, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Helen (Plummer) Williams.
She is survived by a daughter: Belinda (Chris) Santschi of Festus; a brother: Cecil Williams of De Soto; a sister: Barbara Tipton of Festus; four grandchildren: Stephanie McCreary of St Louis, Michael (Jonneth) Santschi of Glendale, Ariz., Shea (Jeffrey) Brune of Cape Girardeau and Megan (Seth) Snidle of Festus; and six great-grandchildren: Sydney, Mische, Jordyn, Adalia, Ellis and Harrison.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Robin Johnston; and four sisters: Martha Bollinger, Maxine Carr, June Meng and Shirley Williams.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. and a funeral service at noon Friday, April 14, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus, officiated by the Rev. James Owens. Burial is in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Crystal Oaks Foundation, P.O. Box 680, Crystal City, 63019. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
