Betty Rose Thomure Ragsdale, 86, of Rocky Face, Ga., died Dec. 22, 2017, in Dalton, Ga. Mrs. Ragsdale was an assistant at the Jefferson County Daily News-Democrat newspaper in Festus until 1965. She was later a teachers’ aide and school administrator for 19 years in Tampa, Fla. She was a Catholic. Born May 16, 1931, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Dennis F. and Lulu (Aubuchon) Thomure. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 65 years: Ronald L. Ragsdale.
She is survived by a son: Dr. Kevin L. (Cynthia C.) Ragsdale of Dalton, Ga.; and two grandchildren: Bond Emory Ragsdale and Brock Addison Ragsdale, both of Dalton, Ga.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Laura E. Thomure.
A memorial graveside service will be held at a future date. Burial will be in Dalton, Ga. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
