Betty J. Willis, 98, of Sikeston died May 16, 2020, at La Bonne Maison in Sikeston. Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and a member of the Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sikeston. Born Sept. 20, 1921, in Castlewood, S.D., she was the daughter of the late Carl Halvorson and Laura Tollessen.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin Willis, whom she married on Dec. 22, 1943.
She is survived by a son: Stephen (Jan) Willis of Winter Spring, Fla.; a daughter: Barbara (Dennis) Bayer of Festus; three grandchildren: Stephanie (David) Rose, Christine (Alex) Buehler and Brent (Tiffany) Bayer; and six great-grandchildren: Lauren Buehler, Andrew Buehler, Caleb Buehler, Anna Rose, Rebecca Rose and Adalyn Bayer.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild: Ryan Bayer.
A private graveside service will be held Friday (May 22) at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston. Arrangements are under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
