Bertha M. Logan, 91, of Pacific, formerly of De Soto, died Oct. 28, 2020, in Pacific. Mrs. Logan was a teller with Boatman’s Bank. She served on the board of directors of the De Soto Public Library, was a member of the Parent/Teacher Association and was a very active member of the De Soto Community Church of God, having served as Sunday school superintendent and on the Missionary Women Board. Born Oct. 9, 1929, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late John Brown and Mary Matlock. She was preceded in death by her husband: Glendell Logan.
She is survived by five children: Glenda Moore of Florissant, Sheila Cowan of De Soto, Lisa (Derrick) Stith of Florissant, Kenneth (Joyce) Logan of Hillsboro and Barry (Sue) Logan of Pacific; one sibling: the Rev. Bennie (Delorie) Thompson of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law: Alma Montgomery and Lorna Evans; 11 grandchildren: Trevena (Warren) Briscoe, Bryan (Stacy) Cowan, Marechal Moore, Natasha (James) Douglas, Brad (Angela) Cowan, Rachel Moore, Jason (Tiffany) Hahn, Erica Hahn, Chad Williams, Kaitlin (Christopher) Barton and Lisa (Joe) Randolph; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Elvin Moore; four siblings: William Montgomery, Robert Thompson, John Thompson and Julius Matlock; and one grandchild: Eddie Jackson.
Visitation is at 11:30 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses, the Rev. Ron Kulp and the Rev. Benny Thompson. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
