Bernice Scoby, 84, of St. Louis, formerly of Imperial, died Jan. 16, 2017, in St. Louis. Mrs. Scoby was a homemaker. Born Aug. 28, 1932, in Red Bay, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Vera (Hardy) and Cliff Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Scoby.
She is survived by a son: David (Cindy) Phillip Scoby of Texas; three daughters: Sharon (John) Hoover of St. Louis, Kathy (Steve) Edwards of Sandy, Utah, and Renee (John) Lawrence of Imperial; two sisters: Helen Ray and Faye Toone; a brother: Ray Jackson; nine grandchildren: Jessi Jones, Kara Hoover, Jordan Hoover, Willow Edwards, Lily Edwards, Melissa Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Judah Lawrence and Israel Lawrence; and three great-grandchildren: Mallory Emmett, Taylor Jones and Kaleb Jones.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Vertie Mae Harrison and Louise Conwell; and a brother: Richard Jackson.
A funeral service was held Jan. 20 at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home in Arnold. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
