Barbara J. “Dean” Love, 85, of De Soto died Jan. 31, 2018, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Love was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 659 and the Columbia Anns. Born April 17, 1932, in Tiff, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Valerie M. “Tan” (Boyer) Govero. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harlan Love.
She is survived by two daughters: Karen (David) Rogers of De Soto and Denise Love of De Soto; a daughter-in-law: Laura Love of De Soto; five siblings: Mary Joyce “Peggy” Young of De Soto, Curtis “Bud” Govero of Tiff, Clayton “Kay” (Patricia) Govero of Bonne Terre, Richard (Thelma “Ray”) Govero of Tiff and Ronald Govero of Tiff; eight grandchildren: Michael (Stacey) Sloan, Toby (Shelly) Love, Shawna (Andy) Schutte, Justin Rogers, Julie Drury, Lindsey (Eddie Pruneau) Evans, Derrick Carlin and Cody (Taylor Henderson) Carlin; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Gary and Larry Love; five siblings: Veronica (Charles) Backof, Maxine Johnston, Mary Ann Bourbon, Phillip Govero and Paul Govero; one grandchild: Gabriel Love; and one great-grandchild: Bentley Carlin.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Mausoleum in De Soto.
