Aurelia “Sis” Robbason, 103, of Festus died Sept. 17, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Robbason had worked at the E&W shirt factory, Brown Shoe factory and Woolworth’s in Festus as well as at PPG Industries in Crystal City. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, where she worked 35 years in their St. Vincent de Paul clothing room. She also was a member of the Legion of Mary, Daughters of Isabella, VFW Post 3777 Auxiliary and the Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary “Pink Ladies.” She loved to dance, play cards, fish and treasure hunt with a metal detector. Born April 15, 1914, in Desloge, she was the daughter of the late Lucinda (Leon) and Frank Charles Hurst. She was preceded in death by her husband: Horace Kenneth Robbason.
She is survived by a son: Joseph Robbason of Vermont; two grandsons: Antonin and Braxton Robbason of Vermont; a brother: Verlon (the late Bernice) Hurst of Festus; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Arthur (the late Melba) Hurst.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main Street, in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Clark Maes. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
