Arlein Amelia (Klable) Simpson, 87, of Barnhart died July 9, 2021, at Crystal Oaks Assisted Living in Festus. Mrs. Simpson was retired from Kohler City Supply in Barnhart. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Antonia and was an active volunteer in the gift shop at Mercy Hospital Jefferson. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, cooking, playing bunco with her friends, gardening, housekeeping and spending time with her family. She was born April 9, 1934, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Edwin and Christina (Wuertenberg) Klable. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years: Ronald D. Simpson.

She is survived by four children: Charles "Steve" Kline of Barnhart, Dennis Kline of De Soto, Sheila Kline of Barnhart and Rhonda White of Herculaneum; a sister: Patricia (Wayne) Timeus of Barnhart; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Held, Erin Lynn (Nathan) Knight, Ashley Marie (Evan) Jennings and Charles Benjamin (Tabatha) White; 10 great-grandchildren: Drew, Keaton, Eva, Charlestyn, Georgia, Ryan, Macklin, Logan, Kohen and Parker; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth (Madge) Klable; and a granddaughter: Angela Marie Smith.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Thursday, July 15, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. Burial will follow in the Burgess Cemetery in Antonia. Memorials may be made to Saint Luke’s United Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
