Arch McGougan, 96, De Soto
Arch McGougan, 96, of De Soto died May 11, 2022, at Stonebridge the Villas in De Soto. Mr. McGougan retired from Southwestern Bell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Shekinah Masonic Lodge 256 in Crystal City. Born Feb. 2, 1926, in Steel, he was the son of the late Arch and Blanche V. (Brown) McGougan.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Vera C. McGougan.
He is survived two children: David W. (Melinda) McGougan of Eureka and Richard A. McGougan of De Soto; three grandchildren: Lorinda (Brian) Krey, Dava McGougan and Leah (David) Poe; six great-grandchildren: Hayley, Sydney, Andrew, Abby, Emma and Kaitlin; and two siblings: William McGougan of North Little Rock, Ark., and Flora Jean James of The Villages, Fla.
Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Brad DeLaughter. Burial will be in De Soto City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
