Reando, Anthony

Anthony “Tony” Reando, 89, of South Dakota died Oct. 26, 2016, at the David M. Dorsett home in Spearfish, S.D. Mr. Reando was born March 31, 1927, in Cadet, the son of the late Walter and Mary Rose Reando. He was retired after a 41-year career with Baroid Industrial Drilling. He spent many volunteer hours helping build the local golf course near Lovell and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 66 years, becoming a fourth-degree knight in 1991. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a tank commander, attaining the rank of sergeant, until honorably discharged in 1946. He enjoyed hunting well into his 80s; fishing, especially in Alaska; golf; baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and reading, particularly Louis L’Amour novels. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Loretta Emma (Battreal) Reando.

He is survived by four children: Sandra Ann, Beverly Marie, Anthony James Jr. and Suzanne; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three brothers.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose; and a brother: Walt.
