Anna Lea Schnapp, 80, of Arnold died Sept. 28, 2017. Mrs. Schnapp was a vice president of Mercantile Bank, worked for Ozark Realty and was human resources director at Consumer Credit Counseling. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was active with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. After spending much of her childhood in Kinsey (now Bloomsdale), she graduated in 1953 from Cleveland High School in south St. Louis. Born Feb. 28, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Blanche (Whitacre) and Oscar Tschudin. She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Robert “Bob” Schnapp.
She is survived by a brother: Bill (JoAnn) Tschudin of Festus; two daughters: Sherry “Rae” Schnapp and Tracy Hanephin; a son-in-law: Jeffrey M. Smith; five grandchildren: Colin, Kyle and Cody Hanephin and Audrey and Rachel Smith; a “granddog,” Lola; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Audrey (the late Nick) Banjai.
A celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, immediately followed by the funeral service. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Mid-East Area Agency on Aging.
