Johnson, Andrew

Andrew Jonah Johnson, 26, of St. Louis died Oct. 8, 2022. Mr. Johnson graduated from Northwest R-1 High School. He studied at Greenville University and Webster University before  receiving a master’s degree in school counseling from Missouri Baptist University. He worked as a teacher for the Northwest R-1 School District and later as a counselor at Tillman Elementary School in the Kirkwood School District. He enjoyed playing volleyball and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 1, 1996, he was the son of Todd and Vicki Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister: Katelyn (Kyle) Forthaus; his grandmothers: Betty Mesplay and Myrna Johnson; three aunts: Tracy (Mike) Pick, Cherie Horton and Michelle (Chad) Rodgers; an uncle: Chad (Becky) Johnson; a nephew: SJ Forthaus; a niece: Bailey Forthaus; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: William Mesplay and Gerald Johnson.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at First Baptist Church of Arnold, 2012 Missouri State Road. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the church. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A reception will follow at Legacy VTC, 601 Gravois Bluffs Blvd., Suite G, in Fenton.  Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, 3540 Crain Highway Suite 675, Bowie, MD 20716. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
