Alma Y. Weatherford, 82, of Festus died Dec. 20, 2022, in Festus. Mrs. Weatherford was a sales associate in the deli at Schnucks for many years. She enjoyed birdwatching and spending time with her family, who nicknamed her a “professional back scratcher.” Born Aug. 16, 1940, in Paragould, Ark., she was the daughter of the late and Manerva (Varner) and James B. Lewis.
She is survived by two sons: David Weatherford of Festus and Rodney (Diann) Weatherford of Festus; two daughters: Rhonda (Danny) Lamure of Festus and Tina (Billy) Gray of Festus; a stepson: Keith Weatherford of Paragould, Ark.; a stepdaughter: Jessica Robson of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Pete Lewis and James B. Lewis Jr.; four sisters: Martha Morrison, Juanita White, Betty White and Louella Fleeman; and a great-granddaughter: Kaelyn Gray.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at Mahn Funeral Home, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Randy Gray. Burial will follow at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Radiant Life Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
