Alice R. Stewart, 87, of Dittmer died Oct. 7, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, a volunteer at the Peace Pantry and a Sunday school teacher at Tower Grave Baptist Church. Born Oct. 5, 1931, in Robertsville, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Zumwalt) and Arthur Helm.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert M. Stewart.
She is survived by a daughter: Kimberly Geger; two granddaughters: Ashley K. Stewart and Amber L. Stewart; two sisters: Georgia Craig and Eula Laster; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sons: Stephen (Mary Meyers) Stewart, Jeffery Stewart and Jay Stewart; a son-in-law: Todd Geger; two brothers-in-law: Bill Craig and Bill Laster; a granddaughter: Latisha Dawn; five siblings: Grover Helm, Norma (Norman) Gierer, Mildred (Harry) Nunn, Arthur (Pamsy) Helm and Jean (the late Jim) Miller.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill, followed immediately by funeral services. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
