Alice Belle Winter, 93, of Hillsboro died Dec. 4, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Winter attended Zion Methodist Church in Mapaville as a youth and was a member of Sandy Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Festus, the daughter of the late Nellie (Treft) and Roy C. How. She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward D. Winter Sr.
She is survived by a daughter: Kitty Sue Deckard of Hillsboro; a son: Edward D. (Suzanne) Winter Jr. of Robertsville; four grandchildren: Jodi Winter of St. Clair, Krista (Johnathan) Young of Lee’s Summit, Michael (Caitlin) Winter of Sullivan and Anna (Chance) Adams of San Diego, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren: Kelsie Eversmeyer of St. Louis and Liam Young of Lee’s Summit.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Ivan (the late Ruth) How; a sister: Mary (the late Donald) Kralemann; and a grandson: Edward A. Winter.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Mapaville, officiated by Pastor David Wells. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605; or to the St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD 57325. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
