Trask, Al

Albert “Al” Trask Sr., 73, of De Soto died Sept. 27, 2014, at his home. Mr. Trask worked as a union carpenter and member of Union Local 2214 for 54 years. He also was a member of Elks Lodge 1721 in Crystal City and Amvets Post 48 in De Soto. Born Feb. 17, 1941, in Ashey, Ill., he was the son of the late Wayne Trask and Virginia (Hoecle) Harris.

He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years: Judie (Baker) Trask of De Soto; two sons: Mike (Mandy) Trask of Festus and Scott Carpenter of De Soto; a daughter: Cindy Trask of Bonne Terre; two brothers: Charles (Palmie) Trask of Ste. Genevieve and David (Cathy) Trask of Festus; three sisters: Mona Smith of Crystal City, Kerri (Gary) Hayes of Festus and Kate (Chris) Anderson of Florida; his stepmother: Loreen Trask of Festus; and six grandchildren: Tori Trask, Alex Trask, Dominic Trask, Micayla Trask, Abby Pikey and Paige Pikey.

He was preceded in death by a son: Al Trask Jr.; and a brother: Jerry Trask.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the family or to Canines in Crisis (CIC), 13976 Klondike Road, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
