Alan Ray “Bubba” Springman, 70, of Festus died April 7, 2022, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Springman was a retired systems administrator with AT&T’s St. Louis offices. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a missile technician 1st class submariner. He was a member of Heart of the Apostles Fellowship in Herculaneum. Born April 2, 1952, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Betty Mae (Dudley) and Carl Ray Springman.
He is survived by his significant other and partner of 35 years: Lynda Hampton; a daughter: Amie (Brian) Rich of Santa Clarita, Calif.; two sons: Heath Springman and Michael Hampton, both of Festus; four grandchildren: Heston Daniel Hill, McKenna Renee Hill, Brittney (Kyle) Havey and Dustin (Peyton) Hampton; five great-grandchildren: Kylie Santhuff, Charles Havey, Avalyn Hampton, Charli Hampton and Rylan Hampton; two sisters: Maureen (Michael) Janson of Fenton and Luanna Springman of Festus; and the mother of his children: Carla Dollar Springman of Festus. He was preceded in death by a son: Chuck (Kim survives of Columbia) Hampton.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial with full military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Heart of the Apostles Fellowship. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
