The Herculaneum Park Board and the city will hold a Kade’s Playground Birthday Party to mark the first anniversary of the opening of the universally accessible playground on Saturday (Oct. 15).
The party will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the playground, which is at Herculaneum City Park, 776 Joachim Ave.
Entertainment lined up for the party include the Tekno Bubble Bus from 10-11 a.m., Serengeti Steve and his “Reptile Experience” from 11 a.m. to noon and children’s entertainer Babaloo from 1-2 p.m.
In addition, face painters and a balloon artist will be at the party the entire time.
Students from the Festus High School Theater Group will be dressed as characters Anna, Elsa, Snow White, Tinkerbell, Cinderella, Belle and Pocahontas and Ronald McDonald, Batman, Spiderman and Superman characters also will attend.
Child-related vendor booths and food booths also will be open.
Donations are still being accepted for future phases of development of the play area and may be mailed to City Hall, 1 Parkwood Court, Herculaneum 63048.
