Giving Something Back to the Community will sponsor the 26th annual Jefferson County Martin Luther King Jr. march at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.
The march will be held weather permitting, of course.
The march will begin at Crystal City Hall on Mississippi Avenue and will end at Trinity Mount Carmel Church of Jefferson County, 321 S. Adams St., in Festus. The theme of the march is “Unity in the Community.”
There will be a short program after the march. The speaker will be Mike Kinder, branch manager of U.S. Bank in Crystal City. There will also be songs by children of the Buren Chapel AME Church in Herculaneum. Coffee and hot chocolate and cookies will be provided after the march.
For information, call Denise Brown at 636-937-0575.
Another event scheduled for Sunday has been canceled in anticipation of the weather. Due to impending snow, clouds and cold weather, the lunar eclipse viewing observation night that was to be held at Jefferson College in cooperation with the St. Louis Astronomical Society will no longer be held.
