The Jefferson County Health Department will hold its second annual community health fair, “Spring into Health,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (April 7) at the Hillsboro Community Civic Club, 10349 Business 21, in Hillsboro.
The event will include vendors with health and wellness information and free screenings, including vision, hearing, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and dental.
A bubble bus will be available from 10 a.m. to noon, and several costumed superheroes are expected to make appearances.
There will also be several activities, including a mystery produce guessing game, outdoor reading nook, jump rope contest, free bike helmets and fittings, a “milk a cow” activity and outdoor games.
Free physical activity classes like yoga and basic self defense also will be offered on the following schedule:
Silver sneakers class: 11-11:30 a.m.
Zumba: 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Martial arts self-defense class: 12:30-1 p.m.
4H activity hour: 1:15-2 p.m.
All activities are free and the event will be held regardless of the weather.
