Hillsboro Homecoming Festival

If you’re looking for some fun this weekend, you might want to head to the Hillsboro Homecoming and Festival, which will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight today and from 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, with most activities on Main Street and the surrounding area.

There will be carnival rides, a parade, craft and vendor booths, live music, a car show, children’s activities, contests and more. The theme for the event is Hillsboro Heritage Days.

On Saturday, there will be a 5K run at 7 a.m. at Hillsboro City Hall and a Pancake Breakfast at 8 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 10545 Business 21, in Hillsboro.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, beginning at the Hillsboro Intermediate School, proceeding south on Business 21 to Hwy. BB and ending on Maple Street near the Jefferson County Courthouse.

The event also will include an Armed Forces Ceremony, to be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Administration Center, 729 Maple St. Veterans and active military personnel will be honored at the ceremony, which will also include a guest speaker and music.
