The West Rock Creek Road bridge over Hwy. 21 will close for repairs until February, MoDOT (Missouri Department of Transportation) announced Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The closure begins after rush hour Monday morning, Oct. 14, according to a MoDOT written statement. The project requires a full closure of the bridge for work to elevate the bridge deck and replace concrete that supports the end of the bridge, the statement says.

MoDOT advises drivers to seek alternate routes. To assist drivers, electronic message boards will be in place during the months of the closure. All work is weather permitting.

The work is part of the Missouri Route 21 Pavement resurfacing project in Jefferson County. The project includes resurfacing 17 bridges along Hwy. 21 in the county between the Meramec River northwest of Arnold and Schenk Road near Otto.
