John C. Kriegesmann is running for another three-year term representing Subdistrict 5 on the Board of Directors of Public Water Supply District No. 8 in the April 3 election.
However, to serve a third term, he will have to survive a challenge from Randell Bronson Rhoads.
Rhoads did not return a Leader candidate questionnaire.
The district serves the Cedar Hill area.
Board members are eligible to be paid $100 per meeting plus expenses, but each board member regularly agrees not to accept that stipend, district officials said.
KRIEGESMANN, 69, lives at 8621 High St. in Cedar Hill. He and his wife, Becky, have five children and 10 grandchildren. He has owned and operated John’s Excavating Co. for 33 years and retired after 25 years of serving as a firefighter and paramedic for the Frontenac Fire Department. He has certificates in fire science and parademic medicine. A veteran of the U.S. Army who served two years in Vietnam, Kriegesmann is a member of the High Ridge Elks, the Big River VFW and is lifetime honorary member of the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District. He was a member of Firefighters Local 2665.
What are the biggest problems facing the district and how would you address them?
Kriegesmann: Probably the biggest problem on the horizon is future growth. Right now the area is stagnant on construction, but if the area spurts any major growth, will you be able to maintain your new demand levels?
Why should voters elect you to this position? List your goals, if elected.
Kriegesmann: I have been on the board for six years. I serve the customers, accepting no compensation. If re-elected, I would work to maintain and deliver the highest quality of water to the customers of the district at an affordable price and to meet all of the rules and regulations of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
