The Missouri Department of Transportation has pushed back the closure of Hwy. V at Hardin Road south of De Soto by two days. That section of road is now set to close at 8 a.m. Wednesday (April 22) so crews can relocate the road to address sliding issues, MoDOT spokeswoman Rachel V. Sudduth said.
The project is expected to last about six months, MoDOT reported.
Sudduth said Thursday (April 16) that crews will address problems with an embankment and relocate the road because of its proximity to Joachim Creek.
The project will include blasting, MoDOT reported.
About 1,400 vehicles travel on the road daily, Sudduth said.
The closure is projected to last until early October. Motorists may use Hwy. 110 as an alternate route during this closure, and messages boards are in place warning people about the upcoming closure, according to MoDOT.
