Yale Holding Company LLC of St. Louis recently took over management of the Twin City License Office, 101 Borga Building, Festus.
The Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) in a written statement announced Aug. 21 it had awarded the management contract for the office to Yale through a competitive bidding process. York Management Group of St. Louis had held the office’s management contract for the previous five years.
The Twin City location was closed for business Aug. 15-16 while the management transition occurred. It reopened Aug. 19. The office’s phone number is 636-638-1878.
Haley Dickson, the Twin City License Office assistant manager, said patrons should not experience much change due to the management transition.
“We currently have a staff of six and no one is being let go,” Dickson said. “There is a possibility of hiring more staff.”
She said the office hours will remain almost the same, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
However, the office will no longer be open on any Saturdays, she said. York had offered morning hours on the last Saturday of each month.
The DOR statement said all license office contracts in Missouri are awarded through a competitive bid process and license offices are operated by independent contractors, but overseen by the DOR.
Before York won the management contract in 2018, the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce managed the local license office for 45 years.
