Three people were hurt Monday evening (Aug. 1) in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Fountain City Road and Fountain Oaks Road east of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:01 p.m., Julie M. Propst, 35, of De Soto was traveling west in a 2001 Chevrolet Express Van on Fountain City Road. Kelsie A. Norton, 21, of De Soto was headed south in a 2003 Buick LeSabre on Fountain Oaks Road. When Norton began a left turn onto eastbound Fountain City Road, Propst applied the brakes and the van began to skid, the report said, and the van’s front left side struck the front passenger’s side of the Buick.
Norton was moderately injured and was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Gene M. Keogh, 28, of De Soto and infant Hunter L. Keogh, both passengers in the Buick, had minor injuries and also were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. No injuries were reported for Propst.
Both Norton and Gene were wearing seat belts, and Hunter was secured in a car seat, the report said.
The patrol reported extensive damage to both the van and the Buick.
