Ste. Genevieve County Fair

The Ste. Genevieve County Fair, which had been scheduled for July 9-12, has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers announced on the fair’s Facebook page.

“Just remember this was a hard decision for county fair board members to decide on,” the organization said in the Facebook post.

The post also notes that other county fairs around the state have been canceled “due to this virus going around.”

The Ste. Genevieve County Fair normally is held the second weekend of July at the Ste. Genevieve County Fairgrounds on North Main Street and typically includes a parade, livestock shows, a demolition derby, a horse show, truck pulls, tractor pulls, 4H and FFA exhibits, and live entertainment.

The fair board said it plans to hold a demolition derby, truck pull and tractor pull sometime this fall, as well as a circus in October.
