A man was convicted of multiple felonies from an April 2025 incident in Ralls County where he violated a protective order and held a woman hostage in a standoff.
Michael Clarkson was accused of driving a four-wheeler to the victim's home, breaking into it and holding her hostage, according to a news release from the Missouri Attorney General's Office.
His full list of charges span two counts of first-degree attempted rape, first-degree attempted sodomy, second-degree attempted rape, first-degree attempted domestic assault, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree harassment, second-degree stalking, five counts of violating a protection order, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, according to the release.
He smashed the door using a vase, took her phone after she called 911 and held her at knifepoint before tying her up with her clothes and forcing her in and out of the home while threatening to kill her.
Clark then barricaded the victim in an upstairs bedroom for nearly seven hours and threw furniture down the stairs to block law enforcement.
He also attempted to rape the victim at knifepoint during the standoff.
Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT personnel ultimately entered the room and arrested Clarkson.
The St. Charles County jury found Clarkson guilty on all counts and recommended four life sentences plus an additional 63 years, according to the Attorney General's release.
He's set to be sentenced at 10 a.m. Dec. 1.
