The Boone County grand jury has indicted a man from Poland in connection to two burglaries.

Seweryn Rapacinski, 63, is accused of breaking into two homes on Torrey Pines Drive in Columbia and stealing more than $100,000 worth of jewelry.

Rapacinski was indicted on two counts of second-degree burglary and three counts of stealing.

According to previous KOMU 8 reporting, the first burglary happened on July 10. Columbia Police Department officers found that over $100,000 in jewelry, $5,000 in cash and a pillow case had been stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Torrey Pines Drive.

On Sept. 23, officers responded to a burglary at another residence on the same block. A $12,000 silver dining set and a pillow case had been stolen, according to court documents.

Rapacinski was eventually arrested in Nebraska, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Court documents said Rapacinski does not have legal citizenship in the United States and overstayed his visa.
