A fourth person has been charged in connection to the disappearance of Moberly teen Kayla Huff, who was found dead Wednesday night just over a week after she went missing in Randolph County.

Julian Mason, 26, of Moberly, was charged with tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution Thursday morning.

Court documents allege that Alayna Mason and another individual kidnapped a person in Randolph County on May 6, the same day that Huff went missing. Authorities allege that Christopher Hull and Hunter Ames aided in the crime.

Alayna Mason, Hull and Ames are all charged with kidnapping in the first degree. Hull and Ames also face charges of tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution.

Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford said additional charges could be filed once the investigation into Huff's death is complete.

Court documents detailing what Alayna Mason, Julian Mason, Hull and Ames are accused of doing share many overlapping phrases and details.

Court documents say the group worked together to make the victim's car stop running by pouring motor oil in the gas tank.

Witnesses advised Julian Mason held a funnel into the gas tank while another person poured the oil into it according to court documents.

Court records show Julian Mason has a criminal history.

He pleaded guilty to multiple charges of second degree burglary, multiple charges of stealing $750 or more as well as a single charge of tampering with a motor vehicle in October of 2019. He was sentenced to five years in prison for those crimes.

All four suspects appeared for an arraignment Thursday afternoon at the Randolph County Courthouse. All four suspects plan to have a public defender represent them, and they each have a bond review hearing at 1:30 p.m. May 18.
