Amazon Web Services, a major cloud computing service, reported a major outage on Monday, causing problems for thousands of web services and big-name websites, according to NBC news.
AWS said an “operational issue” affected “multiple services” and said it was “working on multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery,” in an update at 4:01 a.m. CT. Shortly afterward, AWS said it was seeing “significant signs of recovery.”
AWS first reported an issue shortly after 11 p.m. CT, saying an operation issue was affecting 14 services at its northern Virginia facility.
The website Downdetector said that user reports indicated problems at sites including Amazon, Disney+, Lyft, Hulu, the McDonald’s app, the New York Times games interface, Reddit, Ring, Robinhood, Snapchat, T-Mobile, United Airlines, Venmo, Verizon and WhatsApp.
NBC News reports some United and Delta customers couldn’t find their reservations online, check in or drop bags.
