A 55-year-old Pevely woman with a blood-alcohol reading nearly three times the legal limit was uninjured Friday (Feb. 3) after crashing her pickup into a home in the 800 block of Riverview Drive in Pevely.
Pevely Police Capt. Tony Moutray said the woman was driving southbound on Riverview about 10 p.m. when she missed a curve, struck a mailbox, an Ameren utility box and an AT&T box, then drove through landscaping before ramming through the east garage wall of the home and striking a vehicle inside.
Residents of the home were watching television when the crash occurred. No injuries were reported, but the residents had to evacuate the home, which was declared uninhabitable until repairs could be made, the report said.
The woman gave a breath sample to officers that registered .223 percent, nearly triple the Missouri limit of .08 percent alcohol.
She was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, then released pending application for warrants.
