A 23-year-old woman recently was arrested for allegedly shoplifting and writing checks on her mother’s account without permission, Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said.
The suspect reportedly was putting various items in her purse on Feb. 20 at Walmart in Eureka, leading the police to investigate the incident.
When officers arrived, they discovered the woman also was in possession of her mother’s checkbook and illegally wrote checks from it, Wilson said.
Wilson said the woman was issued summonses to appear in Municipal Court.
