Pevely Police patch

A 31-year-old Perryville woman was arrested April 27 for alleged possession of a controlled substance after she fell asleep at the wheel of her vehicle while it was parked and running at a Pevely gas station.

Pevely Police got the call about 3:30 a.m. from the Mobil On The Run on Hwy. Z at I-55.

Officer Ben Litterall responded and tapped on the driver’s side window to wake up the woman.

After seeing her eyes were bloodshot and red, he asked permission to search the vehicle, according to the report, and found two capsules and a straw with a white substance on it in a small compartment next to the driver.

“During booking she admitted to using heroin,” Police Chief Ron Weeks said.

She was released pending application of warrants for a felony count of possession, Weeks said.
