Arnold Police are looking for a woman who allegedly stole $200 in cash from a home in the 2900 block of Arnold Tenbrook Road on Aug. 23, after asking to come inside the home to use the restroom.
A similar crime occurred Aug. 17 in the 100 block of Falcetti Drive in unincorporated Arnold, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a woman who reportedly stole $6,200 in jewelry from that home.
At about 3:45 a.m. Aug. 23, Arnold Police got a call about the theft on Arnold Tenbrook, the report said.
The victim told officers that a woman came to his home, said she was lost and asked to use the restroom, according to the report.
“She said she lost her cell phone and gave the man a number to call to see if she could find it in her car,” Arnold Police Maj. Nick McBroom said. “She said she still couldn’t find it and exited her vehicle crying.”
After the man let the woman inside his home to use the restroom, he stepped outside to smoke a cigarette, McBroom said.
“He heard a noise and went back inside and saw the woman coming out of his bedroom,” McBroom said.
The woman left the home through a back door and then the man noticed the money missing from on top of his dresser, McBroom said.
The woman left in a silver van, the report said.
The victim said the woman was white with short, dark hair, according to the report.
As of today (Aug. 27), no arrests had been made, McBroom said.
He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
In the Aug. 17 case, the woman reportedly showed up at the Falcetti Drive home at about 10:15 a.m., said she was having car trouble and asked if she could come inside to use a phone, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
After the woman entered the home, she allegedly stole the jewelry and left, the report said.
The victim said the woman was white and about 5-foot-5-inches tall with a slim build. Also, the woman reportedly had long, dark hair and a large cross tattoo on her right leg.
Deputies talked to neighbors, and the same woman allegedly knocked on another door on Falcetti and told the person living there she had car trouble, but was not allowed inside the home, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office had made no arrests in its case as of today, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
