Eureka Police are investigating the reported theft of copper and other wiring from a home under construction in the Arbors of Rockwood development. The incident happened between 4 p.m. Jan. 10 and 8 a.m. Jan. 11 in the 5100 block of Greensfelder Valley Court, a report said.
Workers at the unfinished home, which did not have its garage doors attached or a back window installed, told police copper electric wire was cut and stripped from the home’s walls and ceilings. They also said four rolls of mixed wire, worth $150 each, were taken from the property, according to a report.
Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said officers have looked for fingerprints on an electric box and have reviewed footage from a camera at the front of the subdivision. As of Friday (Jan. 19), though, there were no suspects or arrests and none of the wire had been recovered, he said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
