Eureka Police are investigating the theft of approximately two feet of copper pipe, a backflow preventer and PVC pipe from the Villas of Autumn Ridge subdivision. The materials was stolen from the irrigation system that is near the subdivision’s entrance, police reported.
The subdivision’s homeowners association president, a 70-year-old Eureka man, reported the theft at about 2:40 p.m. Nov. 26. He said the irrigation system had been turned off on Oct. 1, and he did not believe anyone had checked on the system since then, the report said.
The stolen materials were estimated to be worth $750, according to the report.
As of Dec. 9, none of the materials had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Capt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
