The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a motorcycle from alongside the road at Hwy. F and Tanglewood Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Pacific while the victim was just 100 yards away. The theft happened about 1:50 p.m. May 22, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim told investigators he left the keys in the 2017 Honda Grom motorcycle when he parked it along the road so he could go into the woods and look at scenery. While in the woods, he looked back and he saw a white man get out of a silver SUV, start the motorcycle and flee the area, authorities reported.
The motorcycle was valued at $3,000. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said June 3 that the motorcycle had not been recovered and no arrests had been made.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
