A van containing some landscaping equipment was stolen from NextStep for Life, 3655 Baptist Park Road, in Mapaville, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The white 2003 Ford Econoline E-250 was stolen between about 4 p.m. Aug. 8 and 7 a.m. Aug. 9. A NextStep employee told authorities the van was locked and no spare keys were missing, the report said.
There was a RedMax blower and trimmer in the van. The van is estimated to be worth $5,000, and the landscaping equipment is estimated to be worth $200, according to the report.
As of Aug. 13, there were no suspects, and the van and equipment had not been recovered, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
