jcso 2 children dead 5-28-24

Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

Arnold Police are investigating the theft of a UTV and trailer from a home in the 3300 block of Boca Raton Drive. The estimated combined value of the UTV and trailer was $6,500, police reported.

Surveillance video shows the 2018 Cub Challenger UTV and unbranded trailer were stolen at about 3:30 a.m. Dec. 2. Arnold Police were still collecting surveillance video from the area as of Dec. 8, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.

He said the victim is a 51-year-old Arnold woman, and it did not appear the trailer, which the UTV was stored on, was secured by any locking mechanism.

As of Dec. 8, neither the UTV nor trailer had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
