Eureka Police patch

Two Eureka men have filed complaints against each other, with each one asking authorities to file assault charges against the other.

Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said the complaints were sent to the Eureka Municipal Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration.

The incident started at 2:36 p.m. April 24, when a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old man had a disagreement in the 500 block of Hill Drive, Wilson said.

One suspect hit the other with a stick, and in turn the man who was hit with the stick punched the other man, Wilson said.

When police arrived, only the 34-year-old male, who lives on Hill Drive, was at the scene, Wilson said, but the 37-year-old male was contacted later and cooperated with police.

Wilson said there were no arrests.
