Pevely Police took two reports of counterfeit money being passed within four days at the same Pevely gas station, the I-55 Motor Plaza on Hwy. Z near I-55.
On May 7, at 3:36 a.m., a man passed a bad $100 bill, Police Chief Ron Weeks said. He said the man bought $31.15 worth of gas and merchandise and displayed more than one suspicious C-note when he paid.
Weeks said the station has video of the man and described him as a white male of average build, 35-45 years old with brown hair, a mustache and a scar or bump on his lip.
A bogus $10 bill was passed Monday (May 11) at about 3 p.m. by a different man, Weeks said.
On Tuesday (May 12), Weeks said police had not yet reviewed that video to get a description of the man.
