Two charged after Arnold Walmart employees allegedly threatened

Gabrielle Cherelle Nunley

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged two St. Louis women with robbery and armed criminal action after one of the women allegedly threatened employees at Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave. The women allegedly stole merchandise from the store, according to court documents.

Gabrielle Cherelle Nunley, 30, and Michele Jennell Nunley, 29, have both been charged with first-degree robbery, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison; and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries a penalty of three to 15 years in prison, court records show.

Gabrielle was arrested Nov. 13, and as of Nov. 15, she was being held on a $30,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents said.

A warrant was issued for Michele’s arrest on Oct. 10. However, she had not been arrested as of Monday, according to court and jail records.

Arnold Police were called to Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave., on April 15 after Gabrielle and Michele allegedly stole $124.22 worth of cosmetics and food items. Two employees had attempted to stop the pair from leaving the store, but they were able to exit, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.

The employees followed the women out of the store, and Gabrielle allegedly shouted she would beat up the employees. When one of the employees called 911, Gabrielle walked quickly toward them and allegedly pulled a gun out of a crossbody-style bag and threatened to kill the employees, the report said.

A third person stopped Gabrielle from getting close to the employees, according to the report.

Arnold Police arrested the women, and an officer allegedly found a crossbody-style bag that had Gabrielle’s driver’s license and a 9-milimetter Glock G26 inside it. Gabrielle also was allegedly seen in surveillance video wearing the bag in the store, according to the report.

Michele allegedly resisted the officers and had to be forced to the ground before being arrested, the report said.
