Not only were there fireworks in the sky in De Soto on July 4 but also on the streets after a fight broke out late that evening.
Several men were fighting in the street and two of them – a 19-year-old De Soto man and a 21-year-old Barnhart man – were arrested for disorderly conduct, De Soto Police Chief Rick Draper said.
At about 10:50 p.m., officers were patrolling in the 900 block of South Second Street where they saw “numerous individuals yelling in the street,” Draper said.
After interviewing the men, police determined that two men drove past another man’s home and yelled something from the vehicle, Draper said.
“After passing the home, they returned on foot and confronted each other,” Draper said.
Then, the men then began fighting, Draper said.
The two men who were arrested were issued summonses to appear in De Soto Municipal Court and released, Draper said.
