Arnold Police arrested a 29-year-old Festus man and a 37-year-old Bonne Terre woman for alleged possession of methamphetamine and other drugs during a traffic stop. Officers stopped a 2004 GMC Yukon on Jeffco Boulevard near Sunset Drive because the license plates on the SUV were not registered to the vehicle, Arnold Police said.

When police pulled over the SUV at about 8 p.m. April 1, the woman appeared to try to hide something under the passenger seat. A police dog was used to search the outside of the Yukon and indicated illegal drugs were in the SUV, the report said.

On the passenger-side floorboard, officers allegedly found two bags with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth, one bag with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and numerous pills, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
