Eureka Police patch

A 35-year-old Eureka man and 37-year-old Pacific woman were allegedly found with illegal drugs when they were arrested outside of Walmart, 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive. The two were initially arrested on outstanding warrants, Eureka Police reported.

Officers at about 9 a.m. Nov. 16 saw a 2007 Ford Five Hundred traveling west on Fifth Street. They allegedly knew the woman was wanted on a felony warrant, and they followed the car to the store, the report said.

The woman and two men got out of the car after parking outside the store, and the officers arrested the woman for the warrants. The woman tried to give her purse to the Eureka man, who officers recognized from previous drug investigations, according to the report.

The officers learned he was wanted on a warrant and arrested him as well. The other man was not arrested, the report said.

After arresting the woman, she allegedly told officers there were syringes in her purse. Officers allegedly found a loaded syringe, a bag with 48 pill capsules in it, another bag containing white crystal-like substance and a container with a dark yellow waxy substance in it, according to the report.

The man allegedly had two syringes that were found when he was searched, the report said.

The woman allegedly told officers the syringe had methamphetamine in it and the crystal-like substance also was meth. She also said the pills belonged to the man, the report said.

The man allegedly admitted that the pills were his, and that they contained fentanyl. It also was discovered that he was wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department for a parole violation, according to the report.

The man was transported to Franklin County, and the woman was transported to the St. Louis County Jail, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man and the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Lt. Brett Grittini said.
