Two men were arrested for assault following a domestic dispute at a home in the 2100 block of Park Drive in Arnold. One of the arrestees is a 19-year-old Arnold man and the son of a woman who allegedly was being attacked by her boyfriend. The second arrestee is the boyfriend, a 40-year-old Arnold man, Arnold Police reported.
The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Oct. 24, when the 19-year-old allegedly hit the 40-year-old in the head with a baseball bat and then used the bat to shatter a window on the 40-year-old’s 2007 Dodge Caliber, causing about $200 in damage, the report said.
The teenager told police he attacked the man because he was choking and striking his mother in the face, according to the report.
The woman, who showed signs of minor injuries, refused medical treatment at the scene, the report said.
The 40-year-old was transported to Mercy Hospital South (formerly St. Anthony’s Medical Center) in south St. Louis County to be treated for a head wound. The teen was arrested, taken to the Police Station, booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek a second-degree assault charge against the 19-year-old and a third-degree assault charges against the 40-year-old, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
