A big-screen TV was taken from a home for sale in the High Ridge area after the victims found a man and woman inside the residence. The incident occurred about 7:02 p.m. Dec. 9, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victims told deputies that the home, in the 2300 block of Little Antire Road, is vacant most of the time because it is for sale. But when they went to the home on Dec. 9, they found a man and woman sitting on a couch inside the house.
The victims said they spoke to the unknown man and woman for about 15 minutes before leaving and calling 911. The two strangers told the victims they had been invited to stay in the home by an unknown man, but they could provide no further details, the report said.
The victims told deputies that items inside the home had been moved to a shed and that a 60-inch flat-screen TV, valued at $400, was missing, the report said.
Deputies found no signs of forced entry, and the victims said the home was cleaner than when they left it, the report said.
As of Dec. 14, the stolen TV had not been recovered, and no arrests had been made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
